About Inclusion

The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) has benefited thousands of people from under-represented and disadvantaged groups. However, participation from these groups across Europe is still low.

Through the Inclusion initiative 13 European countries are working together to ensure that the programme is open and accessible to all.

Over the next three years we will:

  • identify patterns of under-representation among those currently involved in the LLP and those who are not engaging

  • discuss with LLP projects that are successfully addressing social exclusion how the programme could better meet their needs

  • celebrate examples of ‘Excellence in Inclusion’ across the LLP

  • take our recommendations for improving Inclusion to the European Commission and the European National Agencies for the LLP

The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) provides opportunities for individuals and organisations involved in education and training across Europe to work together, learn from each other, and widen their experience of other cultures and languages. A key priority for the LLP is to promote the benefits of lifelong learning to whole communities by: improving social cohesion, inspiring active citizenship and reducing inequality.
