Project Name: School without Barriers (SWB)

A university in Prague has received funding through the Erasmus programme with the aim of supporting disabled people, especially wheelchair users, into university education.

The project aims to empower parents and careers of children with autism by educating them in the practices of science-based treatment for autism. Specific aims include providing parents and careers with an education in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) generally, with particular attention given to basic principles of behaviour and data-based decision making. The objective is to translate, update, and culturally adapt the multimedia package, Simple Steps, for Norway, Germany, and Spain.

The 2008 Leonardo Mobility project targeted young people with low-levels of basic skills and learning difficulties. They had the opportunitiy to participate in the Second Chance School which aimed to help them overcome negative attitudes and social problems.

Project Name: SHARE: Spreading Holistic And Re-empowering Employability Support Good Practice

The SHARE project explored and developed new tools to assist long term unemployed people back into the labour market. This project was made up of partners from Sweden, Ireland and Scotland and was funded through a Leonardo da Vinci partnership grant.

“Sing, Smooth and Smile” made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of social inclusion in Europe through its use of music for learning and therapy for target groups such as expectant and young mothers, the elderly and the disabled.
